Here comes the somewhat unexpected but oh-so-merrier blog entry before we make our way for Johannesburg. We had quite a lot to do lately, which is why these past few days felt shorter than they actually were.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2011

On Sunday, the 26th of June, the “Friends of the Mmabana Foundation” participated with an information booth at the „Zeltfestival“ of the PH Heidelberg.

Wezzy Binda, a MCOP youth member, shares about how Mmabana has given young Zambians a chance to reach out to their own, in ways they haven't ever done before...

It was indeed another wonderful time for 30 MCOP youth on their second youth rural outreach camp. Martin Mubvumbo and Barry Musweu talk about early morning jogs, fun and games and how they have learned to listen to their true inner voice.

On June 16th Zambia commemorated the Day of an African Child in memory of the many children who were killed while fighting for their right to education. It is a right that remains only partially instilled and the MCOP in Choma has set out to support children in their struggle by setting up bursary programs and giving them a national platform at the day's celebrations.

At first, Belinda Simpuki, the secretary of the MCOP Choma, was scared when Nosiku Kalonga left her in charge of the project to write her exams abroad. But she soon discovers that with a faithful team, together they can move mountains.
