Yes, it’s that time of year where Mmabana could celebrate its first birthday! On the 20th of February 2010 the Mmabana Community Outreach Project of Choma – Zambia (MCOP) had been officially registered for a year. Poor as we are, there was no big celebration but a humble prayer of thanksgiving. Everyone is excited to see “little baby” MCOP crawling. This March we are awaiting our Annual General Meeting (AGM). After the event the minutes shall be available to all those interested.

We were also happy to celebrate another birthday, being that of Mmabana’s baby sister! The club “Freunde der Mmabana Foundation e.V.” was founded by 10 young enthusiasts in Karlsruhe, Germany, on the 6^th of February 2010. These “friends” form a European platform in aid of the Mmabana Foundation through networking, raising funds and allowing everyone to integrate himself in this calling – even if we live on another continent!

The founding meeting was held in the homely environment of a student-commune. A meal was shared and tea and coffee were served over a presentation of the “Mmabana Community Outreach Project of Choma” and the objectives of the “Freunde der Mmabana Foundation e.V.”. The founding members elected Jean-Christophe Dalka as chairman and Natalie Zaiss as vice-chairwoman of the club. Further board executives are Pierre-Yves Dalka and David Nass. The “Freunde der Mmabana Foundation e.V.” wants to invite everyone to join this circle of friends either as an active or a passive member.
