Official Logo
Just like a seed takes time and energy to mature and grow its first stem and leaf, so too does an organisation in its development stage take time to grow and develop its public appearance. This has been the case with the Mmabana Foundation over the last few months. Since the beginning of September a team of young, motivated and competent graphic designers (Benjamin Schoppe and Ylber Azizaj) got together and worked with me on transforming the original MF logo. Their hard work, time and knowledge have paid off. The MF is glad announce that since the beginning of October the official logo for both MF and MCOP has been finalised. Thanks to their help the organisation received a professional, authentic and beautiful logo at no cost at all! All I can say is that it’s amazing what great fruit is produced when God inspires people.
The image from the original logo has been transformed as far as possible into the new logo. This was a great deal for us, since it entails the focus, dynamic motion, care and love we as MF and MCOP wish to communicate and perform. The definition of “Mmabana” – a Tswana name – is “Mother of children” and this is our main objective to be associated with the imagery. The African border indicates geographical focus of our work. The colour of the continents outline correlates with the country where the MCOP operates. This will allow easy recognition and enables our vision of growth to other countries and places. The movement and dynamic motion of the old logo was incorporated into the new logo with a change to the people. The children and mother still move towards and into Africa but with a more caring, open and supporting feeling, as well as appearing more African. The children are different in size, symbolising the range of children in the MCOP and their arms are joint implying that we work together and support each other. The mother has the role of a caring and supporting mother, holding the baby in the one hand and looking at and giving support to the children with the other hand. All in all we believe that the new logo represents us as a growing and caring organisation very well and similar to the first leaf of a plant, be the voice saying: “we are serious and determined to stay, bring forth fruit and make a difference to the communities!”
The development of our website has been done with a team in both Germany and South Africa. We thank Simon Schaufelberger and Benjamin Schoppe for their work done towards making the website happening. Furthermore, we like to thank our Communication Partner and Sponsor Intdev Internet Technologies. They have taken up the noble duty to cater all of our communication needs free of charge and in addition offer us world class support and professional services. Mmabana is taking its first steps into the wide world and we thank God that we journey not alone, but with the help, love and trust of people, volunteers, donors, partners and sponsors such as these and like you!
