Who are they? Team MCOP Choma

Nosiku Kalonga

Position: Chairperson & Executive Director

Birthday: 5th of January 1984

Hi! My name is Nosiku Kalonga.

I am the founder and chairperson of the MCOP in Zambia.  I stay in Choma where the MCOP is currently operating. My duty amongst others is to oversee the affairs of the MCOP.

I’m the mother of two beautiful children a boy and a girl. Like many Zambian I grew up in poverty as an orphan since the age of 10, when I lost both of my parents.

Looking at the drastic situation of my country I don’t want to wait and see what my country can do for me, but I want to ask myself the question: “What can I do for my country and my people?”

I strongly believe that the Africa’s problems need to be solved from within, by the Africans themselves, and that in love and unity we can build a better Africa with the support from oversea nations.

I believe in hard work, commitment, generosity and reaching out to the vulnerable and marginalized. It hurts me when I see suffering and always wonder how I can bring change. I love God and believe in His promises. It is the love of God that can bring change in our lives and the environment. And I believe that the love God is to love one another regardless of who we are (poor or rich).

My vision is: Working towards an equal society where the rights of the oppressed are protected, justice is given to the poor and the love of your neighbor as yourself is put in practice. I believe in sharing the love of God through the acts of love.

My strengths are: Gods love, the people around me, my adoptive family in South Africa, friends and my children.

My hobbies are: Singing, listening to music, reading, cooking, making friends, exchanging photos, traveling and playing with children.
