OBJECTIVES
Objectives as a stakeholder:
- Working within the communities, seeking to facilitate the empowerment of marginalized communities - especially children, youths, women and unemployed people - to enable full and worthy participation in society.
- Capacitating, finding and making information available (research and information dissemination for local community)
- Engaging and networking with resource agencies (both church and non-church) and donor partner organizations on specific social issues and to disseminate the information on local, regional, national and international level.
The MCOP is committed to the participation of development of the community in which it envisage: to work towards the achievement and advancement of gender equality and human rights as well as to advocate and lobby on socio-economic justice to influence policy formulation which have positive impact for sustainable development, thus working towards meeting the MDG (Millennium Development Goals) set by the UN (United Nation) by being a catalyst for action.
- Creating awareness and sensitization on HIV/AIDS, sexual behavior, alcohol and drug abuse among the youths and the community at large
- Network and partnership (participating in strategic partnerships and networks within different stakeholders on local, regional, national and international level).
- Facilitate (expresses the gospel imperative of solidarity with the poor and the marginalized. Affirms the dignity of all human beings with particular attention to gender equality)
- Contribute to the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of the children and youth, by enhancing their lives bringing hope, love and self-esteem.
- Coordinate (theological reflection and joint prayer)
- Combat poverty and hunger and thus promoting education for the disadvantaged.
